Private Charters

Story/Tip

This was by far the best thing that we did in Capri. Rather than paying about €20 to go on the company chartered boats that take you to the Blue Grotto, we hired the locals that line up just past the companies. It was €20 for the whole group (bargain if you can), and this local Italian boy took us out on his tiny rowboat with a motor attached. He drove us all the way around the island (much more than we would have seen with the tour groups), and even let us jump off to go swimming in the green grotto. It was beautiful! I can't even explain it. The tour took 2 hours, and although I wouldn't recommend it if you get seasick, it was well worth the nausea I felt because of the windy day. The best thing I d...Read More

A georgous view of the island and surrounding cliffs, it's a short walk with very little hills up to a lookout point. I highly reccommend it for the views, the gardens, and some excellant photo oppertunities.

Walking through ruins, and seeing imprints of people running from the lava, as well as ancient cooking methods and general life, is fascinating even for non-history buffs. We took a few hours of the day to tour around, and it being my second time there I still found it fascinating. Children would love it, and it's not too museum-like, but more like an exhibit you can tour through yourself. The best thing is not to pay for the headset, but to follow a tour group around (there are many), a...Read More

Tram

Story/Tip

Quote:
Take the tram up to the town of Capri. It's cheap, and short, but gives you a great view of the town. The town is adorable, and litered with expensive shops and cute cafes. Get a gelato and wander through the town.
