This place has accommodations that range from bungalows, to hotel rooms. There is a smaller hotel with pool, bar, restaurant. We stayed a week in a bungalow with a kitchen unit, and air-conditioning. All accommodations here are worth the price. Our room was fine for as much as we used it. Small kitchen area with fridge, sink, hotplate, dishes, blender, and utensils. The bathroom was decent, with a great water temperature and pressure. The hotel staff is mostly friendly, but kinda shy at first.

Fun Holiday

This budget hotel is good for singles, young to middle aged couples, and groups. It is located in the middle of the 7 mile beach. It is not ideal for younger kids, except for the beach and pool. The bar and restaurant on property serve daily specials. The room was large and clean, with good air-conditioning. They feature live bands a couple of nights a week. Service was good everywhere except for the bar, which was spotty at best—be sure and count your change and check your bill here. Overall, good location and good rooms, but I would eat and drink elsewhere.

Beach Bars

There are lots of places to stop for a drink, or a bite to eat, along the beach. Roots Bamboo, Bourbon Beach, Fun Holiday, and a few others have nightly entertainment... just follow the music and you will find the hot spot for the night. There is also a nightclub called The Jungle.

Flea Market and Beach Vendors

Check out the flea market and beach vendors for your souvenirs. There are some awesome wood carvings in the flea markets and along the beach, to buy. Remember to haggle on the prices... they start high but will come down quite a bit. Some are also very persistent for you to buy something, but most are OK with a no thanks if you are not interested. Also, if you are a male you will be approached hundreds of times to buy drugs, but with a quick no thanks they are on their way. You will be amazed at the stuff you are offered here... a little something for every walk of life.

Roots Bamboo

This is a great place to visit on Sunday night. They have live music and fantastic jerk chicken. The party goes well into the night, with a good mix of locals and tourists. It offers reasonable prices and a great bar.

Mayfield Falls

Great place for a visit. A guide leads you through and explains native plants and a little Jamaica history. The falls are great and a lot less busy and touristy than Dunns River Falls.
