Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah, Zip-a-Dee-a... my, oh my, what a wonderful day!

Disneyland Paris

Overview

Disneyland Paris
We've visited Disneyland Paris about ten times. We had a lot of fun. It's close to were I live, about a 4- to 5-hour drive. There are two parks, so it's twice as much fun! They are great for kids, but also for adults. Go with the flow and have a great time! Our favourite hotel is New York. It's a quiet hotel and is beautifully decorated. Hotel New York has (in the winter) an ice rink in front of the building. There is a nice, cosy bar in the hotel, with, on the weekends, live music. It's a nice place to relax after your day with a good glass of wine.

Disney's Hotel New York

Disney's Hotel New York: Our favourite hotel!

The outside of the hotel looks like it is from a movie set, with the hotel being eight floors high and made to look like the skyscrapers you find in New York. The hotel has a nice marble-type floored foyer. On one side you have the Cocktail Bar, and on the other side is the reception. Checking in was easy. Mostly we get an upgrade to a room with a view on the lake.

Breakfast is included in the price and usually takes place in the Parkside Diner or the Manhattan. Parkside Diner can be crowded, which is why we try to sit in the Manhattan. There is more space.

We love the Cocktail Bar, during the day for a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, and in the evening for (of course) a cocktail. They have a wide range of cocktails (one cocktail costs 10€). They also provided crisps and nuts and brought your drinks to the table. There is live music (jazz) on the weekends.

We mostly come to Disneyland Paris in December, because everything is decorated in the spirit of Christmas. We visited all resorts, and I must say that this one is our favourite!

Disneyland Hotel

Disneyland Hotel: Have a magical time at this Victorian-style Resort

The hotel has a beautiful exterior. The rooms are spacious. Pastel tones combine with light and patterned fabrics in the guestrooms; all include bathrobes and complimentary toiletries. There is also a turn-down service. Guests of the Disneyland Hotel enjoy a complimentary continental buffet breakfast each morning. The hotel has three restaurants: California Grill, Inventions, and Café Fantasia.

It is a beautiful hotel, and we had a great time. The only negative thing is that it can be crowded. There are so many people who are coming inside to check out this hotel. Everybody walks in and out, especially when the park is closed.

If you like the luxurious Victorian style of this hotel, forget the money, pay the extra cost, and have the most magical time you'll ever have.

I have no pictures of this hotel because my camera wasn't digital back than.

Sequoia Lodge

Rooms were decorated with bright fabrics and modern wood furniture, and the dark-wood furniture fitted exactly into the theme of the hotel.

It was December when we stayed in Sequoia Lodge, and it was cold. It was so cold that it was always great to be back at the hotel, where we warmed up at the huge fireplace. I find this hotel great for the winter because of the dark colours and the whole atmosphere of the hotel. For the summer I think Newport Bay is nicer, because of the bright and light colours.

There were buses to the park, but we decided to walk. It isn’t far to the bus station, about a 7- to 10-minute walk.

Santa Fé

Hotel

Santa Fé

This Santa Fé is very basic. We slept here once, and that will be the only time.

The buildings are supposed to look like those in Santa Fé, but they look more like a jailhouse. Inside you’ll see Disney stuff, so the inside looks better than the outside. The stressful canteen-style environment, with many children running around, is not recommended for adult/couples/families with older kids.

There is a free shuttle to the park. The buses run every 12 minutes to and from the parks, so you never have to wait long.

I can recommend this hotel for budget travellers who only want a basic, clean room for the night.

Annette's Diner

Restaurant

Annette's Diner

Located outside the park is Disney Village, which has various restaurants. One place that is worth a visit is Annette’s Diner. A Cadillac and Corvette are standing at the entrance, so you can’t walk by and miss this restaurant. It is our favourite place to have lunch.

The "Happy Days" are back in this decor of the '50s with roller skater waiters and rock and roll music. For lunch we always go outside the park and stop by Annette’s Diner. Go there early or after the rush and you can sit quietly and relax. I think this is the best restaurant to have lunch. Burgers, fries, and shakes are all on the menu.

* Type of service: Table service

* Menu Items: Burgers, shakes, chili, hot dog, ice cream, and sundaes.

* Hours: Open all day

Directions: Located outside the park, at the entrance of Disney Village on your left.
