Overview

Quote:
Northampton and Amherst are two neighboring towns which each have rich cultural scenes. many of the activities in either town are related to the colleges there (Hampshire College, Amherst College, UMASS, and Smith...)

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

There is miraculous, free transportation available to anyone throughout the valley. The buses leave from many points through town and run frequently. Schedules can be found at university buildings or stores throughout town.

very very low key B+B, there is not even a sign out front. when you arrive you find a note inside the door with keys to your room. you are so undisturbed that you feel like you own the house. the house is in the middle of town, a short walk to everything.

Smith College Museum of Art

Attraction | "smith college museum"

Quote:
One of the best college museums in the country, if not the world. Any visitor who appreciates art will be amazed at some of the contents of the collection, which consists of over 25,000 pieces. Paintings include canvases by Picasso, Monet, Courbet, (a Courbet with an interesting story), Rothko, and many other popular favorites. Very informative tours plus a small annex gallery upstairs with a temporary exhibition.
