Once you reach the Oberalppass, walk towards Disenstis a few hundred yards and then take the cow path that climbs gently up along side the mountain. You will pass several babbling brooks, and an abundance of different flora. As you make your way up, you will have a spectacular view over the whole Oberalppass. As you get higher the path becomes steeper, but it is worth it. All of the sudden you come around a rock, and there in front of you is a tiny-little lake, Lake Toma. It is hard to believe that this is the source of the Rhine River that eventually runs through Basel!
