A Week In Orlando

A February 2006 trip to Orlando by SRT8175

Vacation Village at Parkway in Orlando, FL. February, 2006

Resort is located very close to Disney World, Sea World, and many of the dinner theaters. Opportunities abound to receive free or cheap tickets to almost any attraction in exchange for attending a timeshare presentation.

Quick Tips:

Hit the kiosks along route 192 east or west from I4 (exits 64a and b). Offers abound.

Best Way To Get Around:

Definitely by car. Great deals are available on rentals if you check the websites. The one I found cheap begins with an A and ends with an O.
Our A side lockout was sizable and very comfortable. Nice Jacuzzi tub, big screen TV, balcony overlooking pool area. Only problems were hike from the crowded parking area, and elevator to top floor, farthest unit from the elevator - and buildings shade the pools a good part of the day, at least during February. Resort amenities, like exercise facilities are spread out among several building areas. Checking one place, exercise in same building but upstairs, units are in other buildings, sales office in yet another, gifts picked up still in another location. If you do the resort sales tour, be prepared to move about a bit. Great breakfast though and low pressure.

The best pork chops or steaks I could find in Orlando were at Charley's. Price is not bad for the quality of the food. Even the salads melt in your mouth. Service is great. If the one on International Drive is busy, there is another on 192 just each of I4 in the Vacation Village Parkway Plaza - very close to the road taking you to Arabian Nights.

Attraction

Very convenient to Vacation Village at Parkway. Great show. Good food. The upgrade to VIP for $15 per person gives you early access to mingle with the horses and some performers, early seating (we were front row, center), and very personal service. Beer or wine or soft drinks are complimentary the entire evening. I recommend the upgrade.

Attraction | "Cirque du Soleil - La Nouba "

Great show. Some amazing talents and a great venue. No bad seats. I saw the Mystere show in Vegas and thought it was better than La Nouba, but would still recommend attending. A little pricey.
