Best Things Nearby:
Canmore itself, Banff, Lake Louise, Alberta Rocky Mountains. Two large, modern grocery stores for fresh veggies, breads, meats you do prepare your own meals.

Best Things About the Resort:
Unit recently refurbished and complete kitchen.

Resort Experience:
The unit itself is excellent, recently refurbished, neat, kitchen complete, good maintains. Potential users should note, as in prior reviews, train tracks are very close and trains do travel during the night. Also, the Château Canmore itself, has no on site facilities, such as exercise/weight room. These are available from the neighboring motel at $7 per person, per day. The gym facilities are available at an associated resort 3 miles away. These are excellent. But they are not in the complex itself. This being very inconvenient. The staff at the home desk of the associated facility is excellent. For dining out, our best option was Vic's Steakhouse at the Renaissance. Vic's had the most excellent prime rib diner I have had for many years, Alberta Angus cuts. Unfortunately the prime rib is not on the regular menu and is ONLY available on Thursday's. Obviously prepared and presented by a chef and the cost was only C$18. February, 2006. Reserve your Thursdays diner for Vic's prime rib. Not a prime rib fan? The salad bar (again only Thursdays) was excellent and cost $8 by itself and $6 with diners.
