Vegetarian Beijing

Unbelievable, and probably the best take on Asian vegetarian food the world over! With a fantastic open-style buffet that offers everything from traditional Chinese dishes to faux-fish sushi and sashimi, it would be quite hard to get sick of this place. The lunch buffet is 48 yuan per person and the dinner is 58. It is cheap compared to the other vegetarian restaurants around Beijing and well worth the time it takes to get out towards the Lama Temple.

It offers decent food, but the beauty lies in the excellent sense of ambiance and exquisite preparation. Sit back and watch your pot of tea steep, or just let your mind wander along the branches of the brush blocking your view of the city outside. A meal for two should be between 80 and 120 yuan.

Dao offers a welcoming vibe and good food to boot! A koi-filled water fountain in the middle of the dining area and a nice lady to help you dry your hands in the bathroom top off the experience. You’d be paying a bit more, as meals for two would be around 135 yaun, but the curry “chicken” makes it all worthwhile.
