Summers in GozoBest of IgoUgo

Overview

If you are planning a trip to Malta, make sure that you spend some time on the smaller island of Gozo. The people of Gozo enjoy life and move at a slower pace, which makes Gozo a great place for relaxation.

Quick Tips:

Most stores are closed from 12 to 4pm and all day Sunday, so make sure you get your shopping done before then.

Best Way To Get Around:

The best way to get around is to rent a car. The bus system is not always reliable, especially if you are staying outside the main city, Victoria.

Ramla BayBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

The red sand and blue waters at Ramla Bay draws large tourist and local crowds during the summer months. Small fast-food places offering pizza, burgers, and fries makes Ramla a great place to spend the day and enjoy lunch.

Hondoq BayBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

Hondoq Bay is a small little-known beach in Gozo. Although it is small, it has one of the cleanest waters I have ever seen. The beach is rocky, but there are great views of its sister island Malta. It is also a great trip for travelers with kids. Hondoq is a natural port, so on windy days, when other beaches such as Ramla are rough and wavy, the waters at Hondoq are always calm.

GrottaBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "La Grotta"

La Grotta is one of the only dance clubs open during the summer. It is an outdoor club that is very beautiful. It is situated above a steep valley in Xlendi and is made to look like the club is built in a cave. Since this is one of the only clubs open during summer, it gets crowded, and parking can be stressful. Just get there a little earlier to avoid the crowds.
