Ultimate Mexican Food

An August 2006 trip to San Diego by PainterDave

Where do San Diegans go for great Mexican good? Where there's great atmosphere, great prices, superb cuisine, and great margaritas, all in Old Town.

When you visit San Diego, you will visit Old Town, and when you are there, your first choice for real Mexican food has to be the Old Town Mexican Cafe. Choose a window table and watch the two ladies make tortillas by hand. Try the carnitas and order one of their margaritas. It is one of the few restaurants that serves breakfast. On the way out, pick up one of their souvenir tortilla warmers for your home microwave. This is an affordable place for families, the best in town.
