The Ia Ora is one of the best lagoons on the island. Just walking out from our bungalow and into the water, there were many tropical fish swimming by our feet. Unlike other hotels on the island, the Ia Ora has very spacious grounds, and each of the bungalows (rooms) are very spread out for privacy. There are also a number of overwater bungalows that take advantage of the beautiful lagoon. The long beach has plenty of room to lounge around in the sun and even get tattoo if you would like at the Tahitian Tattoo hut. The restaurant changes their menu every night for variety and on weekends they have a tahitian feast and a great dancing show. This hotel is soon to be under renovation, since many of their rooms are in need of a little updating, but the property alone is spectacular. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
