An August 2005 trip

Hotel | "Pueblo Bonito Rose"
The hotel was very nice, clean and seemingly well organized. Upon our arrival, the bellman took our luggage aside. Although our confirmation said we had a certain room on a certain floor, when we checked-in, the people at the front desk didn't even ask for our papers, nor did we get the room that was supposed to be ours for the week. When I asked what good is the confirmation letter, they said it doesn't guarantee you will get what is on the sheet. Kind of rudely I might add.
Once in our room we waited about 2 hours to get our luggage, which seemed like a very long time, considering there were only two other people behind us checking in that day. We ended up going down stairs to get our own luggage. The grounds were beautiful, but our "ocean view" was very limited. The housekeeping staff was very efficient, they had to come in and replaced our refrigerator after we realized it wasn't working properly, we went out for a few hours and when we returned, they had taken care of the issue.
Any complaints were resolved with free margarita coupons, no "sorrys." The kitchen utensils needed extra cleaning, no paper towels in the unit. I guess I am spoiled at home. I get the goobers if something isn't quite clean enough;(. Over all, we really enjoyed our vacation and would like to go back this year. Unfortunately, I was informed by RCI they have some program in place that doesn't allow you to return to the PUEBLO BONITO ROSE for 4 years if you did not buy a timeshare there. Oh and by the way no need to brush up on your Spanish, because the natives seem to speak better English than we did. Quick Tips/Suggestions: If you do the timeshare presentation usually you can get hotel credit, which helps on the bill at the end. We ride mopeds for half a day and explored a little. The horseback riding was nice too. Best Way to Get Around: This hotel was within walking distance of Downtown Cabo, wear some comfy shoes and watch you step...there are a lot of cracks and bad cement around. Once you get past the check in process and get your luggage, your vacation begins. The serene atmosphere and wonderful birds scattered throughout the premises are stunning. Grab a margarita and you will be transformed into another world.
