A lot of ski areas in the middle of a Minnesota winter have hard, flattened, icy snow, but such is not the case at Spirit Mountain. There are constantly snow making machines so there is always plenty of fluffy sleek snow.
The size of the hills aren't quite as big as I've seen them, but they weren't too small, either. I think the name Spirit Mountain is a tad misleading, especially because there are no mountains in Minnesota. The slopes are big enough, however, to deliver a magnificent view of Duluth and Lake Superior.
