The first trip Down Under to the island that is far away from everywhere!

This is the Sunset on a peninsula off of Sydney that made a great day trip
The flight down from Hong Kong took about 10 hours, with a short stopover in Bangkok. We were greeted by a clean, friendly airport, as well as numerous signs warning of penalties for bringing foreign food into the country. We soon left the airport to begin our adventure in a whole new land! Sydney is quite a city, and one of my favorite so far!

Quick Tips:

Be sure to realize what time your flight arrives, as many from Asia and the USA get in during the morning hours. We arrived early and had to wait hours at the hotel until our room was ready.

Best Way To Get Around:

Sydney has numerous water ferries, which are extremely convenient. Taxis are not cheap but are less than what you would expect to pay in New York. Public transportation is clean and efficient and not terribly expensive. If you're in downtown Sydney, many attractions are within close walking distance.
The hotel is just a short distance from this wonderful sight
This is a wonderful high-class Western-style hotel. We arrived quite awhile before our check-in time, and they made every effort they could to make us comfortable and suggested ways to pass the time. The room was excellent and the staff was very friendly. We had a great view of the harbor and were within about 10 minutes of every attraction, including the Harbor Bridge and Opera House. We also had access to the Executive Lounge, where delicious breakfast and evening cocktails were served. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

Marriott Sydney Harbour

This was a great dive!!! First of all, you must go to the store to register for the dive. Then you will be picked up the morning of the dive at one of the docks by a boat. The staff was very professional and had all the equipment that I needed for a dive. The water was cold, approximately 50 degrees F. Keep in mind that Sydney has their winter at this time of the year. We wore 5mm wet suits provided by the company. The dive masters were great and gave an excellent dive. I found Sydney to be a great dive spot, one of the best I've been to. We saw a bunch of sea life, including a Port Jackson shark and a huge ray.

The two dive sites were Bluefish Wall and Bluefish Point. The price for a two-tank dive, equipment, and some soup was about US$125, which is a decent rate in such an expensive city.
