Wonderful Tallinn

A January 2006 trip to Tallinn by Davids78

Tallinn is a medieval yet modern city that should definitely be on any Eastern European itinerary.

Hotel | "Domina Inn City"

This wonderful inn, part of the Italian-based Domina chain, is one of two in Tallinn but the only one within the confines of the Old Town. The hotel is small (35 rooms) and quaint. It has a nice marble floor in the lobby, along with gold chandeliers. Check-in was simple and made more efficient by the staffs fluency in English. My room was on the second floor. An elevator efficiently took me to the floor. The hallways are well lit, with red carpeting. I was staying at the end of the hallway facing an inner courtyard. The doors have braille locks, so security is guaranteed.

The inside looked like a typical European hotel room: two single beds pushed together with white linens and four pillows. A small television above a minibar faced the bed, and there was a computer, yes that is right, a computer. Every room at the Domina Inn City is equipped with its own PC. Internet access is available for 9 Euros until noon the next day.

The bathrooms were most modern, with a stand-up shower and a heated towel rack. All of the towels and linens were of great quality. I slept peacefully for 2 nights with no problems. Breakfast was included in the hotel room rate and was a typical European baguette-and-fruit continental breakfast.
