Honeymoon in Beautiful Barbados!

A January 2005 trip to Barbados by Kim22

My husband and I went on our honeymoon to Barbados for a week.

Barbados is a very beautiful island with palm trees and blue waters. It is a place to relax and enjoy the many activities that are available. Some things that shouldn't be missed are the catamaran cruise to swim with turtles, horseback riding through the land and on the beach, the island tour in a Jeep (where you get to see much of the island), and seeing the caves.

Quick Tips:

The best way to go to Barbados is all-inclusive. You don't have to worry about taking cash out for meals or drinks. It saves you money in the end as well. Also, we went in January, which saved us some money. If you are thinking about taking a trip there, I recommend looking at the website of Tradewind Tours. They set up our whole trip, which was great. Some things you should bring along are your passport, bathing suits, sunblock, nice but casual attire for dinner, and plenty of cameras.

Best Way To Get Around:

The easiest way to get around on the island is either by taxi or bus. Both of them are very reasonably priced.

Hotel

This hotel was very nice. It's about $500 a night, but that includes all your meals, drinks, and water sports. It was located right on the beach on the west end of the island. It had a very laid-back atmosphere, and I was stunned when I first walked in. It was beautiful, with three pools cascading all together and a cave bar you can swim up to or walk in. The rooms were neatly decorated in Caribbean colors and had just enough space; they weren't too small. I was very satisfied with our room. The hotel had in-room dining until about 2am. Overall, the service was very good and the people were really nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Barbados.
