Resort Experience:

My husband and I own a timeshare at Oyster Bay. This was our fourth time at the resort. Each time we return, we are greeted by the same staff with a big, "Welcome Home!" It is a very friendly place that lives up to St. Maarten's name as the Friendly Island. Our one-bedroom unit had a full kitchen, living room, washer/dryer, and large bedroom and bathroom. The housekeeper would enter daily to empty the trash and make the bed. She also cleaned the unit on Wednesday. There is a bar close to the infinity pool that also has a heated Jacuzzi. We especially liked the Happy Hour, from 4 to 7pm daily, where the drinks were 2 for 1. This was especially wonderful since St. Maarten is very well-known for its cheap drink prices. The bar had premium drinks as well.

You can rent a car at the resort and drive around the island. This resort is located so close to the French side of the island and the French restaurants located in Grand Case are only about 15 minutes away. The concierge at Oyster Bay is only too willing to make your dinner reservations or set you up with any other activities you may want to do on the island. There is a guard at the gate of the resort that monitors traffic both in and out of the resort. We've eaten both at the Jade Restaurant and at Beau Beau's. The food in either place is excellent and reasonably priced. The resort is on Dawn Beach, which is great for snorkeling or swimming. Lounge chairs, umbrellas, and towels are provided free of charge. A person from Busby's Beach Bar will attend to your bar needs while you relax on the beach. Whether it be sailing, snorkeling, sightseeing, or just relaxing by the pool or beach, Oyster Bay is a fun place to be. That's why we intend to make it our "home away from home."

Dawn Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in St. Maarten. Oyster Bay Beach Resort, located on Dawn Beach, provides lounge chairs and umbrellas for your beach enjoyment. There is also bar service from Mr. Busby's, a terrific restaurant located on the beach. An employee from the restaurant will walk around taking your drink order. Snorkeling is wonderful on this beach. You can also swim in the crystal-clear blue ocean. If you prefer to sail, the resort also provides this service on the other side of the beach, away from the snorkelers and swimmers. Whether you just want to kick back and relax or get active, Oyster Bay is the place to be.
