I have visited several wax museums before, but Madame Tussauds is certainly the most impressive one I've ever experienced. The admission price is a bit steep ($30). However, this museum allows you to touch all the figures and take as many photos as you wish. There are several floors full of exciting exhibits. You first enter a Hollywood Opening Night premiere party with dozens of A-list celebs, including Shakira, the Rock, JLo, Ozzy Osbourne, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Donald Trump, Whoopi, Robin Williams, Madonna, and many others. Then there is a brief (and optional) House of Wax-themed horror exhibit, featuring live actors that pop out of you. This portion is a bit weak but lasts only...Read More

This is a trip to the Top of the Rock Observation Deck. It just opened a month or two ago so is a pretty new experience. For about $14 you can take an elevator 70 stories up and see some amazing, unobstructed views of New York City!!! The view is truly spectacular, and you are even given a brochure that labels all of the major buildings so that you can identify them when you reach the top. There was a large staff working, so despite the large crowds, the traffic moved quickly and efficiently. Once you reach the top, stay as long as you like and enjoy the breathtaking view. I have never visited the Empire State Building, but members of my party had and they said that Top of the Rock was quicker and pro...Read More

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)

The Museum of Modern Art is exactly what an art museum should be. It is spacious, with glass, sofas, wide galleries, and giant atriums. It is five floors of art of all different mediums. Museum admission is $20 ($12 for students). If you wish to check your coat or any other items, you can do so before you enter the exhibit. If you have a backpack, you will be required to check it before entering the galleries. There is a lot of art here (over 150,000 items), but this museum is much more manageable than the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The first floor contains the lobby, a sculpture garden, the museum store, and restaurant. The second floor features a cafe, media gallery, prints and illustrated books, a...Read More

If you have the pleasure of visiting New York during the Christmas season, seeing the Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the Rockettes is an absolute must!!! This 90 minute show takes place several times daily throughout November and December. Radio City Music Hall is absolutely huge so there are lots of seating and price options to choose from. The show begins with guests donning their 3D glasses to view Santa's magical Christmas sleigh ride. A three-dimensional Santa passes by all of New York's beloved landmarks and ends his journey right at Radio City. Then, the show really begins as the Rockettes pop out and perform their first dance. (The opening number is different each year). ...Read More

Avenue Q, the Tony winner for Best Musical in 2004, is zany, witty, and irreverent. This is truly one of the best musicals I have ever seen. An adult version of Sesame Street, Avenue Q features puppets who are unafraid to speak their minds. The show features hysterical songs like "Everyone's A Little Bit Racist" and "The Internet is for Porn."The story revolves around Princeton and a recent college grad looking for a place to live. He soon winds up on Avenue Q amid a quirky cast of characters (a closet homosexual, a Japanese woman, and Gary Coleman). Together, they struggle with bills, dating, and finding the meaning of life. Tickets can be purchase onl...Read More
