Australia's Blue Mountains

An April 2000 trip to Australia by lovetogo

Quote: Australia is truly a land of wonder. Not far from Sydney (incredible in itself) are the beautiful canyons and rainforest lands of the Blue Mountains.

Australia's Blue Mountains

Overview

Quote:
"Bushwalking" as the Aussies call hiking is the most common past time. breathtaking views, incredible waterfalls, and nature that includes thousands of species of ferns, colorful birds and many many other thrills if you are still enough to look and appreciate.

Quick Tips:

It is a rainforest area- bring appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes. be prepared if you want to really hike to be in reasonably good shape, otherwise enjoy it from the viewing towers like most others.

Best Way To Get Around:

You can access everything from accommodation to restaurant to hiking trails by foot. Maps and guides are aplenty.

Lilianfels is luxury. It has spacious beautiful rooms, including turn down service. The hotel has every available amenity including a full service spa and large pool. The grounds and the views are absolutely beautiful, and their are cottages at a higher price, that are lovely. Tea and scones in the afternoon that I would love to go back for!

Incredible service, never an empty glass or a dirty plate on the table. Small cozy atmosphere, maybe 15 tables. Beautiful presentation of food and great wine all for reasonable prices.
