Estes Park, Colorado

Overview

Quote:
Rollerblading around Lake Estes is relaxing. If you are into mountain biking, you will find many trails close by. Many quaint shops and the usual touristy stores too. The best restaurant by far is Sweet Basilica.

Quick Tips:

Wear comfortable shoes and bring a very good camera.

Best Way To Get Around:

Walking, biking, or driving

Our cabin was very cozy and private. We had a private hot tub and deck--both had a spectacular view of the Rockies. It was amazing to sit in the hot tub and see the variety of wildlife. We even had moose outside our door. The cabin had a very comfortable king-size bed, spa shower, and working fireplace. We were minutes from the Rocky Mountain National Forest and the town of Estes. We won't stay anywhere else.

I cannot say enough about this restaurant. It is the best restaurant in Estes Park. The food is heavenly. I especially love the fettuccine alfredo--perfectly creamy, with a hint of garlic. The lasagne is a slice of paradise. This is premium Italian fare. Don't go there if you are on a diet--you won't be on it for long. From appetizers to dessert, this is a sure bet. We went there every day while in Estes Park.

Estes Park Brewery

Restaurant

This is a great brewery. The food and beer are excellent. We especially enjoyed the Strawberry Blonde ale. The menu is typical pub food--appetizers, burgers, and sandwiches. The waitstaff is friendly. We had a big group with us and we got seated quickly and the service was excellent. The prices are very reasonable. We go there each time we visit Estes Park.

In a word--WOW. We saw rams, deer, and moose. Our favorite spot was Bear Lake. We hiked around the lake and on some of the surrounding trails. We drove up to see the glacier and drove into cold and snow. The air is fresh and clean, and the foliage is enchanting. Some days, we just drove through the park and took pictures.

If you love shoes as much as I do, avoid this shop. The selection of shoes is large and they have some very unique styles. I bought three pairs of shoes there and they are holding up very well. They offer pricey but quality shoes.
