6) Avoid changing your money at Bureaux de Change in Zakopane town centre.
7) Weird people stand on the side of the road holding cardboard signs "noclegi" or "pokoje". They are not looking for a lift; they're offering cheap accommodations.
8) Hotel Belvedere - excellent! Great for spa getaway!
9) Sunrise or sunset over the Tatras. Amazing views! Only 1100 PLN for 2 people.
10) Romantic sleigh ride on a horse-drawn sleigh. Spectacular scenery of a forested valley, colourful flora blazing on the mountain sides in spring and summer, or the sun reflecting off the dazzling white snow in winter.
11) Ski-jump watching.
12) Little Switzerland: The restaurant is located in a pretty wooden building in the town centre, and the setting is decidedly upmarket. Good for business lunches or fine-dining dinners.
13) Ampstrong- one of the hippest hangouts.
14) U-Boot: You bowl here, and there are some pool tables too. There is even a cinematic golf simulator, which is sure to provide some interesting adventures after a few rounds of vodka.
15) Have to have crepes -- amazing! Have with wild blueberries, which are excellent.
All around, Zaopane is a pleasure to visit if you enjoy outdoor, wilderness, and adventure activities. There is everything for one to do in this little town. My faves are shopping (cheap European clothes for half the price) and eating goat cheese and trout (get the breaded--amazing with a hint of lemon and good for you too). Everything is wonderful--check it out for yourself!
