The Hyatt is a great place to stay in DC, and the Metro runs under it, making it very convenient. The Melrose hotels are also wonderful and cheaper. It is a must to visit the Korean and Vietnam Memorial at night. I also like to visit Lincoln at night.

Korean Memorial

Activity

This is a must-see at night. It will feel very haunting and real. You will be amazed. The doliers are very ghost-like when seen at night. You will also be close to the Vietnam Memorial, which also should be seen at night.
