Bakersfield

Overview

Bakersfield is great if you like smaller towns, although it is growing quickly. If you enjoy country music, line dancing, races, etc., you'll love Bakersfield.

The local phone book has everything you need: coupons for dining, car rental... everything.

Best Way To Get Around:

They do provide public transportation to most places. If you don't drive your own car, you can also rent one, or take a cab.

It is very nice at the Days Inn and very friendly. The price isn't bad for the nice rooms that they provide. The location is great also; it is kind of right smack in the middle of the town.

If you like Chinese food, you'll love Rice Bowl. This is the best Chinese food I've ever had. The atmosphere is great, with all the Chinese decorations everywhere, and the staff is so friendly--they even have a souvenir shop.

It is great at Bakersfield Speedway. If you love car races and beer, this is the place to be. It is great for the whole family (excluding babies). The cars are so fast and so loud, you can feel it in your bones. I absolutely loved it.

Country fun
It is great, with country music, line dancing, karaoke, and cheap drinks. What else can you ask for? They have prizes for the best karaoke and teach country line dancing. It's a great place to go if you want to have a good time for not a lot of money.
