A big Taak to Oslo!

Overview

Oslo is a very clean, crisp, welcoming city that offers some wonderfully refreshing sights and a different pace of life to other parts of Europe I've visited. Holmenkollen Ski Jump and Ski Museum, Viking Ship Museum, Kon Tiki Museum, Folk Museum, Viegelaand Park, and Oslo's Fjord are all recommended places to visit. Quick Tips: The food is very expensive in Oslo, but if you search around, you can find some local cuisine, which loosens the purse strings somewhat. Get an Oslo Pass. For about £19, you can ride for free on all public transport and enter all the museums for free within 24 hours. Well worth it!Best Way To Get Around: Use the subway! This was a wonderfully decorated and welcoming hotel, providing a comfortable room (with reclining beds, I might add) and a fantastic traditional Norwegian breakfast each morning. Close to the city centre and all its amenities. You have to stay here!

If you don't like heights, stick to the museum down below, but for the more adventurous of you, climb to the top of the ski jump and take a look down the slope back towards the arena! Brilliant! It's well worth the money, and make sure you grab a hot chocolate in the cafe at the bottom--lovely.

This is a beautiful park that should ideally be viewed earlier in the morning or near sundown for ultimate effect. We visited on a November Sunday morning around 10am, and the light was wonderful. It was great for taking photos and a relaxing walk.

There are jaw-dropping discoveries preserved for our amazement. It's simply breathtaking when you walk in and see the ships in all their glory. Try and take it in if you can.
