The Royal Hawaiian hotel, also known as the Pink Palace of the Pacific, is a hotel known for its elegance and for being a historic building on the island of Oahu. This hotel opened their doors in 1927 and it was one of the first hotels to be built in Waikiki. This pink hotel quickly became a sought out tourist destination and an icon for Hawaii’s tourism. Walking through this hotel was enjoyable because there were several different shops to look in and plenty of beautiful architecture to see. I remember my friend and I wandered outside of the hotel and they had a wedding taking place. This would be a fabulous place to get married. I felt like the Royal Hawaiian Hotel had truly captivated Par...Read More

Miramar at Waikiki

The Miramar Hotel was the first hotel that I stayed at in Waikiki. They offer affordable rooms that are clean and well accommodating for the average traveler. It’s not the fanciest hotel in Waikiki but it certainly isn’t neglected like some of the other close by hotels. The hotel consists of 21 floors. As far as accommodations, the Miramar has four restaurants and a lounge, they also have a bean shaped pool and a sun deck with bar service that is located on the 5th floor. The shopping within the hotel is pretty limited but there is plenty of designer and souvenir shops close by. The Miramar is located within walking distance to most of the popular destinations around town. The Waikiki ...Read More

I remember that this was one of the only places on our trip where everyone in our group decided to eat together. The atmosphere was definitely laid-back with the Jimmy Buffet music playing, the bright sun shining through the windows, and the multiple margarita flavors that were offered. This restaurant was right across from the Waikiki Beach and seemed to be a very popular place to eat. The burgers we had were good, and everyone in our group seemed to like what they ate. The wait seemed to be a little long, but the food was worth it. I would recommend Cheeseburger in Paradise if anyone is looking for a good burger place or casual restaurant with a great view. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and di...Read More

It’s nice to be able to have a familiar restaurant when you go on vacation. The island of Oahu caters to many foreign visitors and sometimes it’s nice to be able to have real American food. On the night that we found Chili’s I wanted something uncomplicated. I didn’t want to make decisions on what new foods to try. Chili’s is a chain restaurant known throughout the United States for their fun atmosphere. They offer a full-service bar and their menu consists of salads, soups, burgers, chicken, seafood, and ribs. Of course you can’t forget about their delectable desserts; cheesecakes, pies, cakes and several other sweet things. I tried one of their chicken entrées which I thought was goo...Read More

Honolulu Zoo

The Honolulu Zoo is one of the best zoos I’ve been to so far. They have so many unique and interesting animals that I don’t get to see in Washington. The zoo has a park-like setting with tall pleasant trees and attractive landscaping everywhere. There are nicely paved paths to all of the exhibits and attractions. Along the paths they have posted facts about the landscaping and the animals. This zoo has many exotic creatures and a large selection of animals, including elephants, giraffes, and several different species of monkeys, tigers, birds, and rhinoceros’. The settings for the animals were very nicely laid out. I’m one of those people who enjoys knowing that the animals have plenty of ro...Read More
