Overview

I was in total shock at the openness of all things in Amsterdam. I had heard of the coffeeshops and Red Light District, but nothing prepared me for it in real life. It was a total cultural shock, but very liberating, just to walk down the streets. The people in Amsterdam are very open with most things America is not. For example, as you walk down the streets, you will see many different "sex" signs allowing you to view a peep show, or a sex museum, or... the list goes on and on.

Quick Tips:

Make sure to check out Amsterdam online for valuable coupons and travel guides.

Take a trip on one of the boats in the canals. The drivers are very helpful in pointing you in the right direction and tell you where to stay away from.

Best Way To Get Around:

Water taxis, trams, and the train are very good for transportation, but to see all there is to see and enjoy it, you must put on your walking shoes and take it all in or rent a bicycle.

Attraction

As you pass the giant penis in the front door, you are allowed to walk through this multilevel Museum of Sex. Through the years of sex and its history, you can see different props and the evolution of sex. It was very interesting actually. The funniest part was when a statue whispers at you to come here. When you get close, he flashes you--too funny!

Attraction | "Miniature City in Madurodam"

A very large "small" Holland. Miniature buildings made as replicas of the real deal of all of Holland. Including the canals, and the airport in Amsterdam. Very fun, and very interesting to see. Also allows you to plan where things are if your lost! Great fun for all ages! I really enjoyed this, and we had an added bonus of an ice show while there, it was on display, totally awesome! Hand-carved ice. HUGE.
