The Tabacon Hot Springs were created by a long ago volcanic eruption of the Arenal Volcano. The hot waters of the river were naturally rerouted into tumbling waterfalls and endless pools, which the Costa Rican's have turned in a beautiful oasis and spa. Unrivaled beauty!

Lushness Extravaganza
Tabacon Hot Springs and Resort sits on one of the most beautiful pieces of property in Costa Rica. The hot springs, formed by a river winding underneath the Arenal Volcano, range in varying degrees of "hotness" depending upon how close or far away they are from the Volcano. The grounds are lush, tropical, colorful, and almost fantasy like. There are waterfalls of all shapes and sizes for soaking, playing, getting a massage "nature's way, or just enjoying a bit of tranquility. Within the springs compound there is every spa luxury you can imagine, including mud packs, yoga, various types of massages, and aromatherapy! There is also a hotel across the street, a gift shop and a wonderful restaurant. It's a challenge to tear yourself out of the hot springs themselves to enjoy the other amenities, but they are abundantly available and quite reasonable in price. There truly are no words that can describe this beautiful masterpiece of a place. It's a must for any visit - only about 90 miles north of San Jose.
