Dining Out

A November 2005 trip to Naples by NaplesShell

I reside in Naples and am always trying new places. At all places I go, I look for the hospitality to set the tone and make it a great experience. For restaurants I especially look at the service and freshness of prepared foods.

Hotel | "Registry Resort and Club"

The Registry is on the beach, with access through a romantic boardwalk winding through lush mangroves. The accommodations are truly the best I have experienced. The rooms are decorated in a romantic ambiance with pillows everywhere, a fainting chair, and they clearly spared no expense on the mattress. I slept better than at home. There is a beautiful waterfall trickling into the pool. I spend a luxuriant half of a day at the spa, where they catered to my specific health needs. The Registry Resort is the best accommodation in Naples.

My husband is a burger connoisseur. We went once, and do not plan on returning. The burger patty was not the juiciest we have ever had. The '50s ambience is cute, though. My grandmother went at a separate time and had the same reaction.

For the best in Thai and hospitality, Sushi Thai is the ultimate. It is great for lunch or dinner. Living locally, it is where I take all of my guests, sometimes even twice in one visit, which says a lot, since there are quite a few great restaurants in the area. You can expect great, prompt service with an abundance of fresh foods. It is located on the west side of Hwy 41.
