A really nice hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was always clean and tidy.

The gym / sauna / steam room were all well maintained. The staff provide you with a key to a locker containing a bath towel and hand towel.

Breakfast was good. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurants, but I heard good reports.

The food here was really good and the portions were a generous size by UK standards. There was a wide range of foods on the menu, and I wasn't disappointed with anything I tried. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We liked it so much we went back twice.

Phuntong Garden

Restaurant

Don't go here!

We made the mistake of asking a tuk-tuk driver advice for where to eat. This was a big mistake.

The restaurant is a largely open-air seafood restaurant. You pick the uncooked seafood and they cook it for you.

The prices were very high - the most we paid for any meal whilst in Thailand. About 2800 baht for two people eating two king prawns and a sea bass each.

The food was uninspiring. The live "Thai" music was really bad.
The service was was rude - especially when the waiter/waitress demanded a cash tip.

The building and its contents are amazing. The mansion is built entirely of teak with no nails (wooden dowels are used). Remember to cover up (no shorts). or you will be asked to rent a sarong.

A bit off the tourist beaten track, but worth seeking out. The standing Buddha is 32m tall and 10m wide. We got there by tuk-uk after local recommendation.
