Winter in Montreal, Not for the Warm-Blooded

A February 2005 trip to Montreal by Kate06

Quote: I visited Montreal in the dead of winter. It's a beautiful city, even under several feet of snow!

Winter in Montreal, Not for the Warm-Blooded

I loved Old Montreal. Notre Dame Church is spectacular and a must-see. There are great places to dine in Old Montreal. I enjoyed visiting Mount Royal Park, where I had so much fun snow tubing down the mountain. Saint Catherine's is a very fun neighborhood with great restaurants and bars.

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

I found the bus system pretty easy to use. I do not recommend walking during the winter, as it is far too cold. However, walking around Old Montreal is the only way to go.
This is a very nice budget hotel. The price is definitely right. The hotel is located near Ste-Catherine and is walking distance to Old Montreal. There is a very convenient cafe in the lobby of the hotel which has good food. The staff is very helpful and multilingual.
