Beautiful St. Lucia

A July 2004 trip to St. Lucia by MissBeautifulTulip

I visited St. Lucia for 8 days back in July of '04. My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Ti Kaye Village Resort. I have nothing but compliments about the island and our resort.

The best snorkeling on the island was at Anse Cochen, right next to Ti Kaye Village Resort. There was also a great rain-forest hike and hot springs we had a great time visiting.

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

The est way to get around is water taxi, regular taxi, or rental car. Walking is nearly impossible, as the island is so spread out.
The accommodations at Ti Kaye can be summed up in one word--AMAZING! Ti Kaye is set up on a cliff. Each couple has their own cottage, which overlooks the ocean. Upon arriving at our honeymoon location, we were upgraded to an ocean front cottage with our very own private plunge pool. Our cottage was equipped with a small refrigerator, walk-in closet, king-size bed (with mosquito netting), outdoor shower, patio with two rocking chairs and a table, and a two-person hammock to watch the beautiful turquoise ocean roll in and out.

Restaurant

Upon arrival at Ti Kaye, we were introduced to Chef Jullian, who prepared all our meals. As strict vegetarians, Chef Jullian wanted to be sure he cooked our meals accordingly. He asked specific questions to see what types of items we ate and chose not to eat. Each night Chef Jullian prepared an amazing meal. Just when we thought we'd chosen our favorite, we would be amazed all over again the following night. Chef Jullian would visit us at our table and constantly checked to make sure we were enjoying our meal and that it was up to par. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the food each night.

The lunches were also great. Breakfast, which was included in the price, was made to order. Pancakes, fresh fruit, yogurt, and fresh-squeezed juice is the perfect way to start the day at Ti Kaye.

Rain Forest HikeBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

The hike is about a 1 mile down into the rain forest. At times there are wooden steps and a rope banister that makes hiking a little bit easier. The hike itself was amazing. It was completely quiet except for the sounds of nature (streams flowing, parrots calling, and creatures stirring). The hike itself is not too difficult, but your legs do get tired at times due to the steep slopes. There is a picnic area overlooking the waterfall.
