40th birthday celebration at the Red Mountain Spa

I went on this trip with two of my girlfriends, and we had a blast. We flew into Las Vegas and drove 2 hours to St. George. The drive was easy and we had no trouble finding the spa.

My first impression of the Red Mountain Spa was that it was located in an absolutely beautiful place. The atmosphere was tranquil and the sevice was above average. The decor was starting to show some wear. New bedspreads would be nice. Our room had two queen beds and the vanity was located on the wall outside the bathroom. I think you get a good bang for your buck. The food was good and the activities, especially the hiking, was great.

The spa services were above average. I received the best massage in my life from David. I also had a facial that was great. The spa receptionist was very helpful and great at describing the services.

We went on a bike trip to Kayenta which is a small artists community 6 miles from the spa. I had problems with my bike chain popping off due to a bad derailer and I struggled to make it to the town. Finally on the way back to the spa one of the guides switched bikes with me and the ride was easier. My only complaint was that they should have switched bikes with me sooner.

The hiking was awesome and the guides were extremely knowledgable. They have three levels of hikes 1, 2, 3. We did the 2 level and found it only slightly challenging. I would go on the level 3 hike next time.

I highly recommend the Red Mountain Spa. I would definately visit again. We were there 3 nights, but I think 5 nights would be optimal. There were so many things to do that we just didn't have time for!
