The best thing about Zion Ponderosa is the location—just outside of the east entrance of Zion National Park.

Zion Ponderosa has a range of accommodations from free standing cottages for the whole family to cowboy cabins with shared washroom facilities. They also rent some very deluxe homes bordering a nearby canyon.

We stayed in the cowboy cabins and found them to be very comfortable with two queen sized bunk beds and a pull-out couch.

Meals were served in a large hall. We had steak every night. There is always lots to eat and food was very good.

You can get to Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon in about 1.5 hours Best Things About the Resort:Great location, good prices (especially in the off season), good food, lots of activities for families, huge resort (8,000 acres) to roam around in. Resort Experience:This is a great out of the way location. You can make it fancy or basic. You can load yourself up with activities or just hang back and relax. The staff are knowledgeable about the area and more than willing to help you plan something - even if it is not on their list of scheduled activities. ...Read More

We chose to do all of our activities off of the resort—we came to hike. While the resort has numerous activities that are geared towards various interests (see web site), they were more than happy to help us arrange our hikes through Zion and Bryce. While the Parks do not allow guided hikes, the staff at Zion Ponderosa were experienced in hiking the various trails that we wanted to go on. They provided valuable information about conditions and access points. They also provided the use of a wetsuit to hike the Narrows. There are plenty of excellent existing member pages that talk about Zion and Bryce so I am not going to repeat stuff here. There are also plenty of web links that will ...Read More
