A November 2005 trip
to Utah by last_minute
Quote: Looking for a place a little out in the wilderness but with good access to Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. We found it in Zion Ponderosa. 8,000 acres on the edge of Zion National Park, 1.5 hours from Bryce Canyon, comfortable accommodation, good food and organized activities. www.zionponderosa.com

While the Parks do not allow guided hikes, the staff at Zion Ponderosa were experienced in hiking the various trails that we wanted to go on. They provided valuable information about conditions and access points. They also provided the use of a wetsuit to hike the Narrows.
There are plenty of excellent existing member pages that talk about Zion and Bryce so I am not going to repeat stuff here. There are also plenty of web links that will help you in your search.
Back country hiking including the Virgin River Narrows and the Left Fork (subway):
