Connecticut Shore Resort

A November 2005 trip to Westbrook by deniseolivia

Great resort located on Long Island Sound. I recently stayed at a Gold Crown resort in Newport, RI, and thought Water's Edge had superior on-site resort facilities.

Best Things Nearby:
Mystic Aquarium, Nautilus Submarine Museum, Pequot Museum, Florence Griswold Art Museum, Goodspeed Opera & Norma Terris theaters, Thimble Islands, Casinos, shopping outlets, antiquing, good local restaurants, picturesque towns, and roads to explore.

Best Things About the Resort:
Fabulous beachfront and water views, good restaurant, spa, bar, indoor pool, gym, friendly staff.

Resort Experience:
Nice one-bedroom unit with water view, fireplace. It has separate living room area and bedroom, a small kitchenette with microwave, coffeemaker, and refrigerator. The unit could use a little freshening, but I understand they will be doing a remodeling next year. My main complaint is that TV in living room was way too small. It had good movies available, but it didn't feel worth purchasing because the TV too small to view. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I loved walking around the grounds and taking in the views. It was a relaxing vacation and I am looking forward to going back next year.
