We visited Gatlinburg in the middle of the color change season. Simply beautiful! A very romantic place, but with our family in tow, we were very happy that it "fit" so perfectly with all members of our family.

The best things to do is the Smokey Mountain National Park, the Aquarium and dinner shows. The drive through the park is missed by many that only enjoy Gatlinburg with the numerous activities.

Quick Tips:

Try a timeshare preview, incentives are wonderful, and the tickets and dinner-show tickets are free in exchange! Only schedule a few activities per day and leave the rest to spontaneous choices, makes for a more relaxed trip!

Best Way To Get Around:

THE TROLLEY SYSTEM!! at 25 cents per person it is such a value and a wonderful way to explore all the hidden gems of Gatlinburg!

Best Things Nearby:
Smoky Mountains, Crafters delight! Quaint chapels, mountain streams, many activities for all tastes.

Best Things About the Resort:
Stream through property, access to hiking trail. Pool, hot tub, activities.

Resort Experience:
We enjoyed our stay very much. The resort staff were very friendly, it was clean and far enough removed from the center of Gatlinburg to feel somewhat "private". The road to the resort is breathtaking and a bit frightening if you were not prepared for such a journey. We enjoyed a free lunch and gift card for previewing the resort, low pressure and very professional. I would visit this resort again. I would like to add however, that my husband left his watch on the nightstand. The resort did not return it or acknowledge it was left.

Alabama Bar and GrillBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "Alabama Grill"

This is the country music version of "Hard Rock Cafe". Extremely entertaining as there is country music memorabilia everywhere as well as videos playing throughout restaurant. The staff also perform briefly. Well worth the money for a relaxed, satisfying meal. And the portions, HUGE!

Great Smoky Mountains National ParkBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Smokey Mountain National Park"

Many get caught up in all there is to do in Gatlinburg, they overlook this national splendor! The Grandkids even loved this! A quiet time with countless scenic views, and area to stop and park and enjoy the quiet as the kids can enjoy/swim in the many streams. Pack a picnic lunch as there are not any stores in the park. IT'S FREE!

Ripley's AquariumBest of IgoUgo

Story/Tip

Ripleys Aquarium
Ripley's Aquarium, what a wonderful family adventure for all of us! You walk through a "tube" with water all around you, sharks, and other fish swim around you, pet sting rays, a pirate area, a picture takers haven. Indoor waterfall. A very nice restaurant on site. My children's favorite activity this trip. We will go back. You can spend hours in the aquarium!
What a great time! You begin your evening by sitting in the preview area (while waiting for all to enter) entertained by live blue grass music. I hesitated to leave when they began filling the dining area. (Hint, wait until all file in before entering dining area for the best seat) The show was great, we went for the Christmas show and I dont want to give away many things but this is a "must not miss" show. One of the very best we have been at. You will leave satisfied. Great for the children also. Hint: arrive one hour early to enjoy the blue grass.
