SLEEP - Cape Town

A travel journal to Cape Town by MiriamMannak

No matter what you say, you've gotta sleep sometime. Cape Town has a wide variety of accommodations, from budget backpacker's lodging to cute B&Bs and great guesthouses.

Spacious dorms, great lush garden, and friendly staff. In the middle of the Garden's Suburb, around the corner from restaurant scattered Kloof Street, which flows over into Long Street (famous for its nightlife).

Hotel | "CT Backpackers"

This Victorian-style building close to the centre of Cape Town was recently transformed into a backpacker hostel. Type of accommodation: dorm, single and double rooms.

My first impression of this hostel was good: nice bar, internet facilities, spacious lounge and kitchen, dorms with towels and pillow chocolates, professional staff, great balcony, ... But ...
My problem was the owner. He was always in a bad mood, never smiled and he often bitched at his staff. I am very sorry, but I can't stand people who yell at their staff for less than nothing.

Hotel

Friendly, warm, relaxed. These are just few key words that apply to Deco Lodge in the suburb of (upper) Woodstock. The four star hostel is located in a renovated Art Deco.
To my opinion Deco Lodge totally deserves the four stars: spacious dorms, internet facilities, safe parking, professional staff, a great garden (where one can camp)and a swimming pool!
