Park City is a great Mountain town full of fun and energy. It doesn't matter if you are rich or poor, you can still find excitement! Also I'm including information about the areas around it.

Overview

Skiing, skiing and skiing....oh yes and skiing! But wait I can't forget dining, that was excellent too! If you like brief journals with a lot of energy in them, check out all of mine!

Quick Tips:

If you were going to Park City or the areas surrounding it, it would be more fun if you knew how or were willing to learn how to ski or snowboard! Don't worry, there are some great places to learn out there, with instructors that take their time and are good enough to judge whether or not you are ready for the "big hill".

Best Way To Get Around:

Walking along downtown Park City is fun, because the stores are right next to each other and so are the restaurants, this makes walking easy and fun. Driving I would definitely suggest to go to the ski areas (unless you are in a Deer Valley condo and get the shuttle), the Great Salt Lake and downtown Salt Lake. These areas are far apart from each other and usually from your place of lodging. Parking in ski areas is ok, but can get crowded.

My family actually went here for Christmas dinner! We weren't in the mood for anything fancy, so we decided hey you can't get anymore not fancy with pizza! This is a nice little place though, if you want cheap, quick and just good pizza! There is a little arcade in the back for the kids. Also would be a good choice if the kids wanted to go easy, fun and cheap and you wanted to go fine dining. Just drop them off and pick them up!

Restaurant | "Stein Eriksson Lodge"

I am writing about lunch at Stein Eriksson, dinner is much more expensive and fancy. But the great plan is, ski at Deer Valley resort until you are feeling suddenly hungry. But you don't want lodge food, you want a great meal. Well look on a trail map and head over to the ski in ski out Stein Eriksson Lodge. They have an amazing lunch buffet with everything you could want...and if there is something that is not there, ask the on hand chef who will make literally anything! I asked him to make a pesto shrimp scampi and it was the best I had ever tasted. If you are skiing in, I would recommend take note of what you put on that day, because Stein attracts only the most rich and famous of guests. Truth be told, I actually saw Stein Eriksson and his wife there! For dinner if you are going there, ask how to get up there from the town and be prepared to view some amazingly big houses on the way.

Brighton Ski ResortBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Brighton"

Brighton is where people go if they want to snowboard admist all the ski resorts, but don't want as challenging a terrain as Snowbird. Not as rich atmosphere as Snowbird, Deer Valley or Park City. About a half hour away from the airport, cheaper prices than about any other resort. The lodge I ate at was typical lodge food, nothing extroidinaire, but they will make you a chili dog, soup, fries, etc. Outdoor seating to watch the people and slopes.

Alta Ski AreaBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Alta"

Beginners, Intermediates and experts alike can come to Alta! Go up to 10,550 feet on sugarloaf lift, but be prepared to do some work getting down! My personal high was going down all the expert trails that were roped off except one little opening saying something along the lines of "proceed at your own risk!". You can go through knee-deep powder, over cliffs (watch for rocks they will ravage skis), or just...down the hill! You can also hire someone to take you Helli-skiing, which is a blast also. There are spectacular views even going up the intermediate lifts like Secret and Sunnyside...just pure white mountains and clear pure air...what excitement!!! I give it two thumbs up.

Downtown Park City MarketsBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Downtown Park City"

Whether you want fur or wool, Downtown Park City is a great place to do some shopping. You can fine touristy tee shirts, hand made wool sweaters with Norweigan designs, ski jackets, hats, gloves, goggles, skis, snowboards. There are specialy ski boutiques which sell the southwesten style leather, belts, boots, and there is definitely fur items for the high spenders in town. Tip: don't let your ski obsessed husband with a credit card loose.
