An October 2005 trip to Flint by David Ng

Great week with spouse and friends at Silverleaf's Villages, Flint, Texas

  • 2 reviews
Beautiful scenery by lakeshore of Lake Palestine, quiet atmosphere for getaways and reunions,  free paddleboats at the marina, and lots of activities at the resort. We love archery. There is a private theatre on-site.

Quick Tips:

Get Tyler entertainment coupons if you like to dine and shop at nearby Tyler.

Best Way To Get Around:

You need a car to move around at the resort.
Best Things Nearby:
Caldwell Zoo, Roses Garden, and Palestine Lake (lots of catfish)

Best Things About the Resort:
Lots of activities on-site and at the marina, very friendly staff, and the great food at the restaurant too, like the personal pizza--yummy!

Resort Experience:

We enjoyed the beautiful lake scenery from our units (lock-out). Very spacious, privacy for 4. Hardwood floor great. Jacuzzi in both bathrooms. 1 TV in each of living and 2 bedrooms. However, no VCR or DVBD player is provided inside unit. Can rent at activities center.

This is a great place to do fishing at Lake Palestine, with the marina next to the resort. There are lots of activities for children and even reunion gatherings. We tried putt-putt golf; archery; watching movies at the home theatre; playing pool, tennis, and table tennis; and even hay rides. There are well-organized programs by enthusiastic and friendly staff. I will definitely come back to enjoy things we missed during this trip.
