Only 20 Minutes away

A travel journal to Niagara Falls by EriksA1

Quote: I live only 20 minutes away from Niagara Falls but due to my demanding schedule and my wife and kid's we rarely go out there. But each time we do, it still is a spectacular sight to see.

Only 20 Minutes away

Overview

Quote:
I will go into more detail into this journal, but I love the strip as they say. Great for everyone!

Quick Tips:

Make sure you always ask what the exchange rate is...sometimes foreign people that attend car parking lots or other places will just want to take american dollar or other currencies. Also if you are exchanging, look for the best rates, paying with credit card has the best rate.

Best Way To Get Around:

Walking around the strip is great, driving is usually crowded and there is little parking in my experiences.

Planet Hollywood

Restaurant

Quote:
Planet Hollywoods are about all the same: the movie posters everywhere, the popular music blaring, the overpriced merchandise ready to be sold. This of course is no exception! It is fun though, you are eating in this huge globe (you'll see from the outside), you get to watch movie clips and previews from the many TVs strewn about, and there is good food. Beware of going to the bathroom, for the bathroom attendants follow you in, stay while you are in there and then expect a tip! I held it in and got out of there haha. Anyway, a good city to add to your Planet Hollywood list.

Hard Rock Cafe

Restaurant

Quote:
This is a typical Hard Rock Cafe, full of Rock and Roll memorabilia on the walls, TV screens with music stars on them, friendly people, etc. My son had his birthday there, and they made him stand up on this stage and everyone sang to him...not his idea of fun, but try this to a person who's birthday it is! This Hard Rock Cafe is more rocking than some of the one's I have seen...like the Salt Lake City edition! Expect fun, American food (ie burgers), and music. Also after dinner, it is fun to stroll along the Niagara River that leads up to the falls, and then go down to the falls!

Maybe it's just me, but I enjoy going to these Ripley's Believe or Not, even more so than watching the show. It is just fascinating to see the wax model of the tallest man, and walk through the graveyard with the actual sayings on them, plus countless other attractions. There is an extensive collection of records of people who had tried to go over the falls and succeeded and failed. Also those who went over by accident! Great history, you can learn something, be amazed, be frightened, be sick and still have fun.

Casino Niagara

Attraction

Quote:
The best gambling west of Atlantic City, this new casino has a very clean, good place that actually cares about the people. It has formed a partnership with a compulsive gambling association in Canada, and they are trying to fight compulsive gambling and urge people to use their heads on the tables. Lots of games and floors to explore, there are big spenders to touristy onlookers enjoying this place.

Who doesn't remember fun houses? The freaky clowns, the weird mirrors, the surprises, picking a door out of 5 to find the exit way. Well Niagara Falls has this! Niagara Falls, Ontario that is. They are just fun places to be surprised, and hey maybe even a little scared! I have been to Dracula's Haunted Castle, Frankenstein's House and another fun house that I can't remember the name of! They are just good plain fun, bring the kids but if they are young be prepared for some screams and tears! Have fun!
