Southwest Florida offers some great restaurants and awesome food, bars, and an incredible variety of activities to fill your days and nights with fun!

Chops City Grill

Restaurant

If you are in the mood for great fusion cuisine, Chops is the place to go. With their eclectic and always interesting menu, you will have a hard time deciding what to eat! Every time I go there I find a pleasant surprise on the menu. It offers everything from sushi to steaks, from intriguing seafood dishes to decadent desserts, and it's very frequently updated. The wine and drinks list is incredible as well. Enjoy a cocktail at the bar or dine in the elegant, dimly lit dining room... you will want to go back again and again! My family and I go to Chop's at least twice a month, and we never had a bad meal there. Their steaks are to die for, especially accompanied by a "chop-tail" (one of their many great cocktails). I especially recommend the 'Smores for dessert! You'll feel like you are a little kid again, and you'll be stunned by the presentation: they put a little "bonfire" (I asked, it's a jelly candle) on your plate so you can roast your marshmallows before building your smores... incredible!

Iguana Mia

Restaurant

In the mood for Mexican food? Juan's Iguana Mia is your best bet in Bonita. Located in the "green ugly building" (as Juan likes to call it) on the corner of US 41 and Bonita Beach Road, Iguana Mia has a very large selection of delicious Mexican food. Their burritos and fajitas are to die for, and the atmosphere is friendly and casual.

I have tried every Mexican restaurant in the area, and Iguana Mia remains by far the best. Portions are pretty generous, so you might want to share an appetizer! Specials: eat for free on your birthday, and enjoy dollar margaritas on Mondays.

Bonita Jet-ski and Parasail offers everything you might want for a perfect day on the beach. Relax on the comfy double chairs, read in the shade of an umbrella, or work on your tan!

Bonita Beach is the liveliest beach around. Jet skis - brand new Yamahas - are always available (9am to sunset), while you might want to make a reservation for parasailing. Also available is a catamaran sailboat and paddle trikes for the kids.

Ask about the 2-hour dolphin tour, the best jet ski experience you can ask for. A local guide will take you and your friends for a 2-hour tour of the backwaters, where you can see dolphins and all kinds of Florida wildlife.

For beach volley lovers they offer free access to a beach volley court, all you need to bring is a ball and a bunch of friends.

Thirsty and hungry? Not a problem! Doc's Beach House is just behind the jet ski rental. Bar food, sodas, beer, and wine are available all day.

Bennigan's

Activity

If you want to have a good drink, see a lively bar, and be outdoors, Bennigan's is the place for you.

Located in the upscale mall The Promenade, Bennigan's is affectionately called "the circle bar" by locals because of its round counter surrounded by beautiful waterfalls and exclusive stores.

Going there is always fun. At about 6pm the bar starts getting crowded with happy hour customers, but don't be fooled: it's always happy hour at Bennigan's. Yes, that's right! Domestic beers, wines, and well drinks are always two-for-one, no matter what day or time it is.

Around 9pm the music starts and local DJs entertain the crowd until one in the morning. And if you feel like dancing, don't worry, you won't be alone. There are always a lot of people dancing by the waterfalls.

If you are hungry, the kitchen is open late, until 1 am. I suggest you order appetizers--the quesadillas and fajitas are really good--their food is alright, but you definitely don't want to order a steak or a seafood entree.

If you are looking for a fun night out with your friends or loved one, Bennigan's is the place for you.
