Mum's 60th Birthday in Vegas

A September 2005 trip to Las Vegas by shipattack

Great trip with Mum for her 60th birthday. We enjoyed the casinos, gambling, great food, shopping, shows, and the weather was perfect. This is one place to have fun at and enjoy the energy and excitement of Las Vegas.

Fremont Street was a wonderful experience and very energetic. There were artists in the center making beautiful artwork, bands playing music, you just wanted to dance to the music! The casinos were fun and we enjoyed playing the games. The food was fantastic too!

Quick Tips:

We used the coupons for several shows which were great shows. Enjoyed the Secret Garden at the Mirage and the tigers.

Best Way To Get Around:

We rented a car and found that is best for us because we could get around easy and go anywhere without waiting for buses or monorails.
Best Things Nearby:
The Las Vegas Strip

Best Things About the Resort:
The one-bedroom was clean, comfortable, and spacious. It was close to everything. Staff was helpful.

Resort Experience:

We had a one-bedroom unit on the seventh floor and it was very nice, with a view of the Strip. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious enough for mum and me. Very nice unit and clean. It's within walking distance to the Strip, just across the street from the Aladdin Casino, but we rented a car for ease and driving off the Strip area.

There's restaurant on the top floor, but we did not go. The staff was friendly and helpful when we asked questions. There was a computer for use - you purchased 50 minutes of internet use for $10, and I was thankful for this. The pool and hot tub were not open all night, which was my only complaint for this timeshare, but I understand the liability with guests who drink too much. We got back late from dinner and gambling, so we could not sit in the hot tub, as it was closed at 10pm.

Easy access to everywhere. Would definitely stay there again and recommend this timeshare if considering a trip to Vegas.

Attraction | "Casino Gambling"

We enjoyed blackjack, craps, slots, roulette, and the thrill of winning. Also the sadness of losing. It was fun to spend time with my mum playing slots, having a drink, and enjoying time with her in Vegas.

Attraction | "Ron Lucas Show"

This is a fantastic ventriloquist show that I highly recommend. We got tickets for a free show, but you had to purchase two drinks for the show, which was approx. $18. Well worth the price, and Ron Lucas is the best performer in his class. Go see it, you won't be disappointed. Clean enough for the kids too, and funny for all.

Mirage: Secret Garden and Dolphin HabitatBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Siegfried & Roy's Dolphin Habitat & Secret Garden"

The large cats were beautiful and well taken care of. To see the work of Siegfried & Roy with these animals is amazing. They have helped keep these animals from near extinction. The dolphin habitat was very relaxing to see. We enjoyed watching the trainers interact with the dolphins. It is a nice place to visit if you like animals and big cats.
