There is so much to see and so much to do. Most people visit Vegas as a stop off on a tour of California, but Las Vegas took us 2 weeks to fully discover its may sights and sounds. On the doorstep were the natural and man-made delights of the Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Red Rock Canyon, and Fire Canyon. All of them were grandiose in their own special way. The Grand Canyon we invested in a helicopter trip, which was worth the money, as the scenes from the air are tremendous, but take the time to stay for a while and soak up the magnitude of the place. The accommodation was good. The apartment was well equipped and spacious, although there was not a very scenic view. The surrounding area is being developed and should provide good shopping and dining in the coming months. It was nice to get out of central Las Vegas for a change of pace, but be aware that it took 20 minutes drive to get into the centre from the resort. The pool was adequate but not substantial, and by September the evening breeze could be strong and somewhat chilly in the shade.
