Overview

Don't miss the Sunday Market at Marsaxlokk, brilliant for fresh fruit and vegetables, bread and cakes, and fresh fish. In Valletta, the "stately home," a 16th-century house, is excellent; it's really interesting to see the inside of one of the houses. In Mdina/Rabat, don't miss the Roman house (as usual, the Maltese museum service provided excellent information about the exhibits) and also the fascinating catacombs. We particularly enjoyed the conducted tour and reenactment (including firing a canon) at Fort Renella, and you get a good view of the film studios next door.

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

Buses are generally quite frequent and inexpensive.
Best Things Nearby:
There are lots of restaurants and shops, and you can get buses to different parts of island from Qawra.

Best Things About the Resort:
Indoor and outdoor pools

Resort Experience:
There is a bar and a restaurant, but both were used little whilst we were there. Communal areas are clean and the pool area is pleasant. The condition of our apartment was disappointing - it was generally in need of decoration and updating. The small TV was also not up to modern standards.
