Colorado is spectacular anytime, but fall is my favorite time. This trip to Steamboat Springs exceeded my expectations in every way.

We used this resort as a base for exploring the fall grandeur of northwest Colorado. Our visit to Strawberry Park Hot Springs was memorable on a perfect fall afternoon. Steamboat Lake SP is another worthwhile side trip. From Rabbit Ers Pass, take Highway 14 towards Ft Collins for a constant fall spectacular. Antelope and deer can be seen everywhere. Don't forget Rocky Mountain Park, which is only a couple of hours away. Highway 134 or 13 can be exciting, too. In fact, almost any road you try will be worth the effort in scenery or wildlife or both.

Quick Tips:

Plenty of excellent eating places can be found in Steamboat, and the people are friendly and helpful.

Best Way To Get Around:

Hike the trail along the Yampa in Steamboat, or try any of the nearby state parks. A personal vehicle is required, but the roads are well maintained and the views breathtaking. Avoid the ALPINE Cab Co., however.
Best Things Nearby:
Strawberry Park Hot Springs  and all of northwest Colorado

Best Things About the Resort:
Well-maintained and in a great location

Resort Experience:
The unit was richly furnished, with a comfortable feel, and directly above the hot tub and sauna. All it lacks is a little modern electronic update to DVD and CD capabilities.

This is a place to throw your peanut shucks on the floor and enjoy the great babeque ribs. I haven't had any this good in some time. I will be sure to visit again when I'm in town.

This is a late-night place to enjoy good food and local beers. It was noisy, but the service was good and the food better. The menu was intriging, and I would revisit on another trip without hesitation.

This is a chain-type Mexican place with a great rooftop dining area that gives a wonderful view of the town and mountains surrounding Steamboat. We tried it twice and were very satisfied with the service and cuisine.
