A September 2005 trip to Vancouver by KenDurham
Quote: A trip to Vancouver is not complete without a visit to Stanley Park to see the totem poles and the cityscape.
Overview
There is a burned-out tree near the western beaches that is neat to stand in (use a flash to get a picture). See if you can find the snake's head in the tree.
It will take more than an hour to see it all.
There is a horse-drawn wagon that gives tours as well.
Attraction
1st Beach is closest to town and by far the noisiest for traffic. Easy to get to and therefore busy.
2nd Beach has the "cement pond" (swimming pool). Great sandy beach, but lots of rocks to climb if you want to go into the water.
3rd Beach is by far the best. Direct access to the water, the sandy beach is wide, and there are massive logs on the beach to use for sitting or shelter from the offshore winds.

It ranges from commercial to industrial to residential to ocean to mountains.
The choice of view is yours, even the same view is changing as you watch it. ENJOY!
