Paris is a moveable feast

A September 2005 trip to Paris by mryltis

I went to Paris to escape from troubles at work, to find happiness being alone. Instead I found the kindness and friendship of a stranger. And I discovered Hemingway was right about the city of lights, "...it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast."

Best Things About the Resort:

Resort Experience:
Beautifully built, each condo is actually a little house. The staff is great and the facilities are the best. The entire resort looks like a little village. You get your own house, but with room service! There is an outdoor and an indoor swimming pool, a golf course in your backyard, a mini marketplace with fresh baguette and croissants, a staff fluent in English, and free shuttle service to the Métro station. Plus, there's a humongous mall at the next Métro station.

Musee d'OrsayBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Musee d'Orsay"

This is my favorite museum. It was a train station and is well lit and just the right size, and the art collection is tasteful. Get a museum pass so you don't need to stand in line.

Eiffel TowerBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

You must go at night, when the lights are all on. And once an hour, there are twinkling lights all over the tower. It's a great sight, and you must go to the top. But don't wait to get off at the very end when they're closed, because there is a huge crowd waiting to go down on the one elevator.

Cathédrale Notre-DameBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Mass at the Notre Dame Cathedral"

This is an impressive place that is certainly beautiful and awe-inspiring. Being Catholic, I decided to attend Sunday Mass. I was disappointed by all the tourists walking in and out and the Mass being such a commercial spectacle that even the least critical of the Catholic Church would be disgusted. I did not feel like it is such a holy place at all.

Basilique du Sacré-CoeurBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Sacre-Coeur - Montmartre"

This church, on the other hand, moved me deeply. Sacre-Coeur is inspirational. And if you really sit still, you will feel something special. This is a former Agnostic speaking. Plus, the harp player in front of the church really helped the atmosphere.
