Overview

York is home to beautiful Nubble Light, the most photographed lighthouse in the U.S. It is a definite must see for those passing through. York has plenty of beaches and parking too. Kids will love the penny candy, arcades, and York's Wild Kingdom amusement park at York Beach. York is just north of the Kittery, home to a bustling factory outlet scene. Quick Tips: One of the great advantages of York over some surrounding towns is the amount of beach space here. You will never feel crowded. It is also a great area for biking and walking. Summer is definitely the time to visit here. Don't miss the homemade saltwater taffy at the Goldenrod!Best Way To Get Around: A car is essential here!...Read More

The rooms here are well appointed and comfortable. If you can afford it, go for the ocean view. The inn is perched on high cliffs that plunge down to the ocean. There is a pool and a beach here. The dining room is adequate but the service is sometimes slow.

Hotel | "York Harbor Inn"

The York Harbor Inn is a typical old New England Inn. It is a beautiful colonial house directly across from the Atlantic Ocean. My husband and I felt immediately at home here. We stated in the LL Bean room, and had a deck overlooking the Ocean. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The dining room is superb as is the informal Pub where we felt most at home on the leather couches in front of a roaring fire.

Restaurant | "The Pub at the York Harbor Inn"

This is one of the most relaxing dining experiences we have had. The Pub is downstairs at the inn. Most of the lighting comes from the huge stone fireplace. The menu is an equal mix of seafood and steak. We loved the Artichoke Dip, and the open face rib-eye sandwiches. The prices are very reasonable for an inn of such quality. The service was excellent, and the food and drinks were fantastic!

Cape Neddick Lighthouse

Attraction | "Nubble Light"

Quote:
Nubble Light is the most photographed lighthouse in America. Once you see it you will definitely recognize it. It is a sure reminder of days gone by, perched on a small island, just a stone's throw from the shore. Unfortunately, you cannot tour the lighthouse.
