Week Vacation to Golf Central

Overview

Place we stayed Photo, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

The best place to be is on the golf course. There are so many different ones to play. Where our resort was, there were at least four less than a mile away. We had a great time - me, my brother, and dad all got our rounds in. While we were golfing, the girls were going to the beach and shopping. The most memorable moments were the time we all spent together. Keeping up with my nephew while he was feeding the ducks was interesting - mad great for home videos. One of the golf courses helped with a memorable moment because of the picture the golf course took. My dad is always making jokes about pictures around his urn. When we got the pictures from the clubhouse, he smiled and said ...Read More

We liked that it was off the beaten path and that there wasn't a lot of traffic. The rooms were very spacious. Each room had its own bathroom, which, with nine people, was great. Having the golf course off the back was the best. You could work on all asp...Read More

Hamburger Joe's

The first time we ate there, we didn't really know how it was going to be. We decided we would eat there, and boy, were we surprised. My wife usually does not eat hamburgers, but she wanted to go again. The hamburgers were great. The service was excellent, and the price made it even better. If you are looking for a great place to eat for lunch or dinner, this is the place for you. Casual dining and easy on the wallet. I wish we had one here in Florida.

The course was laid out well. The distance on the course was intermediate - not too long and not really short. Par threes were not simple because of the traps in front and where they were placed. The upside to this course for us was that where our resort was located, it was right beside it. One of the par three's got used and abused by me. It was right behind where we stayed. The downside to this course was the way they had tee times way too close to together, and also because of the work being done on the course - it was cart path only on the back nine. I would recommend this course only if you ...Read More

The course was tight, without too many open fairways. Each hole had its own challenges. The only thing that made the experience bad was that on the first hole we met the maintenance crew, but after that the golf round was a blast. The greens were in great shape, and the layout of the course made things fun. The par threes was where it was interesting, and there was one I had a chance for a birdie but blew it. I have a pic of how close I was. I hit the best nine iron I have ever hit. I walked away with a par, but my dad, who's ball is also in the pic, drains his for the bird. I think that's what threw me. I really enjoyed the round, and if you get a chance to play Prestwick, I suggest you do....Read More

I would have to say that out of all the courses I played that week, I should have just gone back and played this one over and over. The layout of the the course was wonderful. It was not to tough, but watch out for the bunkers, as you will see in one of my pics. The greatest part is that on most of the holes I did not lose my drive. The fairways were wide and accommodating to my huge slice.  The greens were even better; the very surface was just great. Putting was not too terrible for me, my dad, and my brother because the greens were forgiving. The only thing I would have to say is not to hit the ball short and to stay out of those bunkers , which are very deep. I think the best experience overall...Read More
