Overview

The flight from the Dallas-Fort Worth airport took between 8 and 9 hours, so when we landed, we were worn out. We received a nice lei when we got off the plane, and then we had transfers to our hotel. When we arrives at the Outrigger Reef Hotel, we were very pleased with what we saw. The lobby was all open-air and had a nice tropical look, and the breeze felt great. There was a 6-hour time change, though, so we were ready for bed and it was really early there. We went across the street, got McDonald’s, and then crashed. Needless to say, we woke up early the next day, like at 3am, ready to start the day. Our neighbors had also just arrived the day before, because they were also looking of...Read More

Hotel

This is a really nice beachfront hotel located on Waikiki Beach. We had airport transfers to this hotel. When we arrived, the site was amazing. It was very tropical looking. The hotel lobby was all open to the outside air, and it is a really good experience. We quickly got checked in and went to our room. Our room was really nice, but did not have a tub, only a shower. That was my only complaint. The room had double beds, a television, a mini refrigerator, a safe, a coffeepot, a hair dryer, a dresser, and a balcony overlooking the ocean and beach. Outside of the lobby area was a nice, outdoor pool area, and then past that was the beach. The beach was really nice, and the wate...Read More

We were picked up from our Hotel and taken to the location of the luau by bus. When we arrived, the location was in the sand on 12 beachfront acres and there were tables and chairs lined up in rows and then a stage in front of them. There was a line of tables, with the food between the eating tables and the stage. When we took our seats, there were pitchers of Blue Hawaiian’s and Mai Tai’s on our table. They had both drinks with and without alcohol, so you could make your choice. If you did want to drink, you didn’t have to worry about driving afterwards, since they took you by bus back to your hotel. We got our drinks and then watched as they removed the pig from the ground. Then we were all a...Read More

This shopping center was located just across the street from our hotel and the beach. It was a very large shopping center with many different stores. This was a four-level mall with many different areas. The different areas were called courts, Ilima Court, Orchid Court, and Hibiscus Court, and each of these courts were 3 to 4 stories tall. The shopping area had shops with accessories, apparel, art galleries, banks, beauty salons, books, entertainment, fashion designers, flowers and lei stands, furniture, gifts, and souvenirs, jewelry, photo processing, real estate, refreshments, restaurants, services, and information, sun products, and travel services. There were 11 restaurants, w...Read More
