Southern Maine Getaway

Gorham, Maine, is a cute little historic town near Portland, Maine. The PineCrest B&B is located in the heart.

Visitng the lighthouses is most certainly the highlight.

Fall is a wonderful time of year to visit Maine. There are bike trails, which take you through some of the most amazing fall foliage I've ever seen! Make sure you take time to bike or hike around the countryside. The PineCrest Inn provided me with maps of the trails. The farms and apple orchards are not to be missed either.

Quick Tips:

The shopping outlet stores nearby offer great discounts. The famous L.L. Bean outlet is just a short 30-minute drive to Freeport.

Best Way To Get Around:

Biking is great here, but nothing beats a leisurely walk along the southern coast line, especially in the early morning hours.

I found this B&B through a great new Travel Club called InnShares. It is sort of like a B&B timeshare, but better! We are finding this to be much better than an ordinary timeshare. And you get all the great benefits from a B&B! You might want to check this new program out.


Although this bed-and-breakfast is listed as having a moderate rate, the quality was more as that of a luxury inn. They have a website:PineCrest Bed and Breakfast.
Every morning, there is a delicious gourmet breakfast included in the room price. The rooms are very charming and comfortable, with a private bath. The "Quincy" guest room has its own fireplace.

They also offer great little room additions, a bit like room service. There's a very small cost for in-room extras like chocolate-covered strawberries and large basket of pampering bath items! If you ever visit Maine, you must stay here!
